Anesthesia Answers

As a board certified anesthesiologist, Dr. Kochert brings a unique dynamic to the practice of regenerative-injection pain therapy.

Many procedures are rather quick and relatively painless. But, for some, particularly because the therapy is being applied to an already injured or damaged tissue, anesthesia might be an option.

When Does Anethesia Make Sense?

Sedation is something Dr. Kochert will discuss with you during initial visits, as well as the day of your procedure.

Administering anesthesia will depend on:

  • Your particular pain-therapy procedure
  • Your health profile
  • Your insurance coverage and, if unavailable, whether you are willing to cover the cost

What Types Of Anesthesia Are Available?

Dr. Kochert offers:

  • Intravenous (IV) sedation—In some cases, patients may fall asleep. In others, they simply remain comfortable and alert.
  • Oral sedation—Designed to relax the patient.

The amount and type of sedation will depend on your tolerance to medications and your pain level at the time of your procedure.
